Earth, sky and old vines.
Utiel-Requena is one of the most important wine regions in Spain. For more than 2,000 years , wine has grown and been produced here.
The area is situated on a plateau 700 meters above zero, but it is only 60km from the Mediterranean Sea. This gives us the perfect climate for wine - cold winters with snow and warm dry summers.
The ‘Bodega’ (Spanish for cellar / winery) was founded in 1914 by one of the most influential families in the region.
In the first 60 years, wine was produced mainly non bottled for the French market.
Since the 80s....
the wine is bottled, and has been branded Coto d’Arcis worldwide with great success.
The winery Sebirán is also one of the few wineries that has proudly been appointed with the lisense to produce CAVA (Spanish quality sparkling wine).
In the present, the bodega is led by a European management, with people from Sweden, Germany and Spain. This young dynamic team gives us a modern, easy-to-understand production with details to perfection.
The capacity of the winery is in actuality at 1.8 million liters. At present, we process local grapes as Bobal and Tardana, traditional Spanish grapes such as Tempranillo and Garnacha and last not the least international well known grapes as Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
